Epielle Deep Cleansing Charcoal Nose Strip Review

Yesterday I tried a nose strip for the first time! My nose is the oiliest part of my face, and is my main spot for blackheads and whiteheads. I’m not sure why, but it’s always been this way. The other parts of my face are normal, and people are always telling me I have “good skin.” And in the most humble way possible, I agree. I keep my face clean and clear by using a face wash at least once per day, usually in the morning. (I’m going to do a full post on how I keep my face clear later, so I’ll be brief here.)

But my nose has always been a problem spot. I usually pop the bumps on my nose as soon as they appear, but I know this is bad because doing so poses the risk of pushing bacteria further into your face.

So when I spotted these nose strips–at a very affordable price–I knew I had to try them. The Epielle nose strips are $2-3 for a pack of 3 or 5, and are sold at Big Lots. I not sure if they’re sold anywhere else, but the main point of this post is to show you that you don’t have to buy expensive strips to clear your nose up.

The Process

The box states to clean your face first, and the cleanser I’ve been using for the past several months is the “Alba Botanica Good & Clean Gentle Acne Wash.” It says it’s for normal to oily skin, and I wrote a review about it in the post “October Favorites” if you’d like to read it.

Then, you wet your nose, and apply the strip. And let the strip sit for 10-15 minutes. I let mine stay on for 15 minutes to make sure I got everything.

As the strip dries, it gets stiffer. So when it was time to take it off, it was very stiff, so you have to pull it off carefully.

The Results

I’m amazed at how much it pulled off! It pulled off both my whiteheads and blackheads. I think a few are still on the sides of my nose, but that may be due to the shape of my nose. I couldn’t get it to stay in the creases on the sides.

I’m going to try again in a few days, and maybe I’ll have to tape it down to stay on the sides of my nose. The box says you have to wait three days before using a new strip, and to only use it once or twice per week.

Here’s my before and after shot. I circled the blackheads on the left, so you can see that they disappeared on the right.

If you want to see the whiteheads pulled off by the strip (which was a lot omg), you can click here to see a zoomed in photo of the strip. I didn’t want to put it here directly because many people get squeamish looking at stuff like that.

Alternative Products

If you don’t want to try this product, there are plenty of other pore strips out there. Biore is the one that’s probably most popular (I haven’t tried this brand). And many stores sell their own brand as well, such as Family Dollar (I haven’t tried this one either, but I plan to).

I heard of this product before but I have not tried it yet. I can’t believe it really pulled the whiteheads off! I think I would like to try it.

I was glad that you reviewed this product because I received a similar product in one of my beauty box subscriptions. Maybe I’ll have similar results!

Not really. You just have to be careful when pulling it off, so that you don’t bruise your skin. Because it’s very stiff.

Your blog is so fun! It’s nice to know that the cheaper strips work just as well as the expensive ones! Great review 🙂

I’ve always wanted to try a pore strip but I just never picked them up. I’ll definitely have to try a brand next time I’m in a store with beauty products
